Idioms

1) READ BETWEEN THE LINES

MEANING: When somebody is telling something literally, but the real meaning is something different that you can understand very well.

EXAMPLE: The mother tells her daughter "You eat a lot when you come here honeyyyyyy". And her husband understand that her mother in law is telling this to him; because he eats a lot and her wife not (she is very thiny).


2) DRIVE SOMEONE AWAY


MEANING: Force someone to leave.


EXAMPLE: The mother in law told her son and his family " Oh my Good is to late and the kids have to get up early tomorrow; good bay, thanks a lot for comingggggggggggg" (at the same time that she is opening the door).
